Hey, I’m Maggie.

My affinity for words dates back to the 4th grade when a teacher told me I had “a real knack for the English language.” Persuaded to compete in a national spelling bee, I enthusiastically agreed, only to be unenthusiastically eliminated in round two of the competition. If you’re interested, the word was “ache” and it has haunted me since! But here’s the good news: Considering my editorial career hit rock bottom at age 9, things had nowhere to go but up — and they have!

Shortly after graduating from college (when finding a job in advertising was a real challenge), I needed money and decided to dive into what I loved: writing. So I started a tutoring company for college admissions essay prep – and it took off! In fact, over the last ten years, that little business has naturally ebbed, flowed and developed into a little branding business, which has given me the opportunity to work with some pretty kick*ss companies.

Having moved to Denver in 2016, I'm a (recent-ish) transplant from California, born and raised in Los Angeles. I grew up in a house of creatives (my father is an author, my mother an artist) so storytelling runs through my veins. And frankly, since landing my first job as a copywriter, there has never been a single day when I’ve questioned whether I chose the right career.  And that’s the truth.

Today, I’m the Director of Content Marketing and Brand for a company called Guild Education in Denver, CO. My day-to-day work is interactive, fast-paced and fun as it focuses on holistic brand voice strategy, content development and execution, and I currently oversee a team of writers and designers.

On the side, you’ll find me here, working with a talented team of writers who have decades of experience as content marketers, teachers and authors.

And while we’ve got the academic chops to back up our work, we’ve also been in your panicked, feeling-the-pressure-to-blow-the-crowd-away shoes. And, in the case of Ghost Toast, we’re excited to be filling them for you!
